As early as tomorrow, September 10^th, the Senate will be considering the Interior Appropriations Bill, and during this process an amendment will be offered that is a key component of President Bush’s initiative.

These are the folks who can either make or break the President’s effort to clean up our forests and prevent catastrophic wildfires. However, they are being lobbied hard by their fat-cat, radical environmentalist campaign donors to REJECT Bush’s Healthy Forest Initiative. The President’s Healthy Forest Initiative will clean up our nation’s forests and prevent wildfire disasters. Radical environmentalist have been locking up forests from all human contact for years through the Endangered Species Act, lawsuits and bad legislation. The result? Sick, infested, wildfire-prone forests. That’s why Sen. Daschle cynically exempted the Black Hills, located in his home state of South Dakota, from legislation and lawsuits that inhibit fire prevention. Doesn’t the rest of America deserve the same protection???

Last month, we reported that due to phone calls and diligent pressure from APC’s dedicated News Wire activists, President Bush was thinking about reversing his original decision to NOT allow airline pilots to arm themselves. Apparently, APC activists are VERY persuasive because not too long after our alert went out, Bush changed his mind, saying he will endorse legislation that allows armed pilots!

With Bush finally on board, the Senate woke up and overwhelmingly passed an armed pilots bill last Thursday. The final details and provisions of the bill still have to be worked out between the two houses.

We did it! What looked improbable only a few months ago, just became a reality. Thanks to APC activists and others around the country, airline pilots will soon be allowed the armed capability they so desperately need to fend off would be terrorists, and protect the lives of their passengers. Congratulations on a job well done!

1. Call both of your Senators and thank them for passing a common sense bill to allow armed airline pilots. Unless, of course, your Senators are: Chafee (R-RI), Corzine (D-NJ), Jeffords (I-VT), Kennedy (D-MA), Reed (D-RI) or Spector (R-PA). These knuckleheads voted against armed pilots.
